This bowl is innovative in its design, yet pure in its form, incorporating elements of ancient China but with an overall modern look. A vase from this series was selected for the "Innovation Competition at Maison&Objet 2022".
This version is shaped like a hemisphere, with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 8 cm. Made of high-quality Chinese (tea) pottery, with a bronze coating that turns black.
Element Accessories represents the fusion of European and Chinese expertise in design and production techniques. This series was designed by the talented Chinese designer SUNs, a Red Dot Award winner. The goal is to popularize a new, modern Chinese style with a fresh and unique identity, "from made in China to designed in China."
The OTARU series combines Song Dynasty traditions (small bronze legs) with modern minimalism; high-temperature production technique; resistant clay; and a mineral glaze with natural ore, skillfully fired in a kiln (1360°C), to achieve a natural look and feel of bronze fading to black.
An additional year of R&D with experts was required to achieve this result.
